The most important ingredients in SHaNa™ are Docosanol and Tricontanol (TRIA). Clinical studies have shown that Docosanol inhibits fusion between enveloped viruses and the host cells, thus blocking entry and replication.1 Triacontanol exhibits action that may be mediated through inhibition of lipid peroxidation (lipoxygenase inhibition). 2
